Privacy policy

The short version

RatingCafe does not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracker. We run a lightweight first-party analytics tracker that records anonymous page views for our own reporting. We do not sell, share, or rent any data.

What we store

  • Anonymous page views — timestamp, URL, country, referrer, user agent. No IP is stored.
  • Bot detection — we flag crawler traffic separately to keep our metrics honest.
  • Nothing else — no cookies for advertising, no fingerprinting, no behavioural profiles.

Data sources

All venue hygiene ratings come from the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) open data feed, licenced under the Open Government Licence v3.0. RatingCafe does not modify scores, only the presentation.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

Since we don’t hold personal data on identifiable users, there is very little to access, rectify or delete. If you believe we hold something about you, email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
